Iris Yusupov earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in clinical neuropsychology. The goal of her studies during her master’s degree was to adapt a memory intervention offered at Baycrest, a geriatric hospital, to an online setting to make the program accessible for those who cannot be physically present. She led pilot studies with older adults living in the community to ensure that the program was adapted to their unique needs. Her doctoral research aims at discovering if this online intervention promotes use of evidence-based memory strategies, increases knowledge about memory and modifiable risk factors that can influence it, and boosts participants’ confidence in their memory abilities. In addition, she studies the impact of hearing loss in older adults on the practice of neuropsychologists at Baycrest.
